“ We had a table booked for Sunday lunch for a large family gathering. The long table was set beautifully and most people had carvery dinner. They were all more than satisfied with their choice of beef, pork and turkey with all the trimmings. Two of us in the group were vegetarian and there were two choices nut roast and mushroom wellington, both were delicious. The staff took care to take the vegetarian order and inform us when the dishes were ready so those having carvery dinner could get their food at the same time. They also brought us vegetarian gravy, which was a thoughtful touch. Many of us didn’t have space for desserts after the enormous lunch, but those who did enjoyed the Eton mess sundae, cheesecake and surprisingly they even had churros with homemade chocolate sauce which was delectable. The play area outside was just perfect for the youngest member of our group. Would definitely visit again. They also have b&b across the road and we were reliably informed that the rooms are well appointed and reasonably priced. ”
“ Great food at a good price. Had a wait for the food didn't look busy but I was informed it's freshly cooked. When the food arrived it was hot and very large portions. Everything was very fresh and full of flavour. The burgers where a proper thick burger and not a pate. Mine was a steak and ale pie and the chunks of steak where full of flavour and no fat. Couldn't fault anything and the staff where great. ”
